Before Your Travel

Q. How far in advance can I make amendments to my Peugeot booking?
A. All changes are on request with Peugeot and within 30 days off collection certain changes are not possible. For further information please contact us directly.

Q. Is there a cancellation policy with Peugeot?
A. If a booking is cancelled outside 6 weeks of pick up an AUD500 cancellation fee will apply. If booking is cancelled inside 6 weeks of pick up, a cancellation fee of AUD500 plus supplier levied charges will apply. In addition, if the vehicle has been registered a further cancellation fee of EUR800 will apply. In some cases, travel agent charges may apply.

Q. Can I order a specific colour for my Peugeot vehicle?
A. No, Peugeot do not offer this service.

Q. Is a diesel model better to have then a petrol model?
A. The price for diesel is generally cheaper than petrol in most European countries. Therefore we recommend if you plan on doing a reasonable amount of driving it may be more economical to pay the extra and take a diesel model.

Q. Where can I drive my Peugeot?

A. You can drive your Peugeot and are covered by insurance and assistance in the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus (Greek Territory only)~, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France (including Corsica), Germany, Gibraltar, Greece (excludes Crete and Greek Islands), Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy (including Sicily and Sardinia), Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Malta, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (including Azores and Madeira), Romania, San Marino, Serbia*, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (including Balearic and Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, the Vatican.

~The cover of insurance provided for Cyprus is limited to the geographical parts of Cyprus which are under control of the government of the Republic of Cyprus. *The cover of insurance provided for Serbia is limited to the Republic of Montenegro and the geographical parts of Serbia which are under control of the government of the Republic of Serbia.

Travel is not permitted into the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Belarus, Israel, Iran, Kosovo, Moldova, Morocco, Russia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the Greek Islands. Travel to these countries is at the lessees risk and is not covered by the Peugeot insurance or Peugeot assistance.

Q. Can my friend or relative collect the vehicle for me?
A. No. The vehicle can only be delivered to the registered driver or to his/her spouse or partner. In this second case, the spouse or partner of the contract holder may also collect the vehicle, providing they present an original proxy form, including the phrase "I authorise my spouse/partner ............. to take delivery of and drive my vehicle." A photocopy of the contract holder's passport is also required.

Q. Can I have additional drivers and is there a fee?
A. Yes. There is no charge for an additional driver however the following restrictions apply: Immediate family members may drive the vehicle but under no circumstance can they take the vehicle across any borders. Immediate family members are spouse/partner, direct descendants and ascendants of the registered driver. The term 'spouse' is understood in the broadest sense and may apply to a cohabiting partner or civil partner, provided that proof of this relation is provided. All additional drivers must comply with all eligibility requirements of the lease.

Q. How do I purchase the emission sticker that is required in certain parts of Germany?
A. As you will be driving a French car it is your responsibility to source this sticker. These can be purchased from vehicle registration offices, vehicle inspection stations (TUV’s in German), authorised garages and post offices. Simply show the registration papers that you are given at the start of the long term car hire and the dealer will provide you with the emission sticker. The cost is approximately EUR8.

During Your Travel

Q. Do I need to leave a deposit when I arrive or pay for any extras?
A. No. Once you have paid us you will be given a prepaid voucher, this will cover you for your long term car hire and there are no extras to pay other than tolls, highway charges or fuel. There is no deposit required or credit card imprints taken at time of collection.

Q. If I take my Peugeot vehicle on a ferry will I be covered by insurance?
A. Yes. Your Peugeot will be covered by full comprehensive insurance and have coverage on all UK, Irish and European ferries. Ferry crossing fees are not included in the costs.

Q. What equipment is provided with your Peugeot vehicle?
A. All Peugeot deliveries will be provided with a security kit which includes a reflective jacket and triangle. Peugeot will charge the client's credit card should the item/s not be returned with the vehicle. Some countries may have individual equipment requirements so this should be researched when planning an itinerary. Peugeot cannot predict where each client will travel and therefore leave it to the client to investigate and purchase.

Q. Does the Peugeot vehicle come with a spare tyre?
A. Please refer to the individual vehicle specifications. Only certain vehicles come with a spare tyre. If you are unsure please contact us directly.

Q. What happens if my vehicle is stolen or I have an accident?
A. Contact the Car-2-Europe Peugeot Assistance Team by phone. Detailed information is available in the Peugeot Travel Book which is supplied in your vehicle. A detailed report and/or police report is required.

Q. If I want to extend or change the details of my long term car hire whilst I am overseas, can I do this through my Australian Travel Agent?
A. No. Extensions or changes are possible however you will need to contact Peugeot direct and arrange this with them. All costs will be in Euros and current taxes applied.

Q. If I have to return earlier for any reason, can I do this, and am I entitled to a refund?
A. Yes, please make sure you contact the Peugeot Representative at least 4 working days before the expiration of the contract to organise the return. Please Note: There are no refunds for early return of your vehicle. We strongly suggest you purchase suitable travel insurance prior to departing your country of origin.

Q. Do Peugeot provide safety equipment?
A. The Peugeot vehicle is delivered with a Road safety kit which includes a reflective vest and a warning triangle. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure they have the adequate and necessary items required, as the laws and requirements vary between countries.

Q. In winter, will the Peugeot vehicle be delivered with winter tyres?
A. No. All vehicles are fitted with standard tyres prior to leaving the Peugeot Sodexa factory, regardless of the date of collection. Standard tyres are not suitable for all winter conditions and during certain periods of the year. In some countries it is a requirement by law that all vehicles are equipped with winter tyres between November and April. Peugeot Europe does not lease or sell snow 'winter tyres'. It is the client's responsibility to purchase the appropriate 'winter tyres' whilst overseas and have them fitted and removed at an authorised Peugeot dealer. Failure to remove 'winter tyres' may result in additional costs for their removal. Mud & Snow Tyres with Grip Control can be requested on certain vehicles; ask at time of booking.

Q. Does the Peugeot vehicle come with a spare tyre?
A. This depends on the model as some Peugeot vehicles are delivered with a spare tyre and some with a repair kit only.

Q. What transmission type will I receive if my car includes ETG?
A. ETG is a mechanical piloted gearbox often referred to as a semi-automatic transmission.

Q. Can I purchase the Peugeot car after my lease has finished?
A. Yes, you have the option of buying the TT vehicle for yourself or a relative at a discounted price, subject to conditions. Peugeot Europe will take care of customs clearance for re-registration in mainland France only. For further details, please contact Peugeot Europe at least 21 business days before the expiration of your contract.
